Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She is well-known as a public speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency the website which hosts videos and commentary analyzing portrayals of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and an American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency investigates how women are represented in popular media. As well as working to expose the issues surrounding sexual harassment and assaults on women and as well as other minorities, she is determined to break down stereotypes that are associated with pop culture. Sarkeesian holds a Masters in the field of political and social thought at York University. As a public speaker, she is highly sought after and has been a speaker at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was created in 2009 by Sarkeesian. university student who has been involved in topics related to gender and feminism for a long time. An ambitious woman who wanted to start a web-series examining the gender representation of video games was targeted in the internet campaign. It was not enough to deter her.
