Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who has managed to cross from the country genre to mainstream pop culture, becoming an idol of the world of pop. She also conquered the entire globe during the course of her journey. Swift let go of the influences from her country music like they were an extra layer of skin and revealed she was among the best singers/songwriters of her time. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it to her advantage. These skills were evident on her first hits, particularly the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering her true identity and in the process, finding the mass market. Fearless became a big hit not only in the United States where its Top Ten singles Love Story, and You Belong with Me helped it to record six platinum albums but also around the world. The album was particularly successful throughout Canada Australia and the U.K. Swift managed to build upon her progress through Speak Now almost two year later. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within the genre she was a part of. She stayed on top of the charts even when she dropped her style with her sibling albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
